Adam gets a call that the church would like to interview him for the Discipleship and Missions position. We head down a couple of weeks later to meet a few sweet couples on the search committee as well as the pastor and then sit down for sort of a pre-interview.
We really weren't sure what they would think, if we were too young, if what we felt the church should look like lined up with theirs, where they're going and where they've been. We were pleasantly surprised by many of the things we found out and what great vision the church has and not just from the pastor, was truly so encouraging. From what we can tell the church has a lot of very faithful members who have stuck it out through thick and thin and are excited about what God is doing in their church and their city. And we get to be a part of it :)
The next week they called back and told us that they would like Adam to come down for a lengthy interview with the whole committee. On the way down we kind of totaled our car. womp womp yeah not exactly in the travel plans.
Yeah it looks bad but not totaled right? Well apparently we did a doosy on the underside. We hydroplaned on the interstate, spun around and smashed into a guardrail. And we all walked away without a scratch, even poor Tucker in the back seat. We are sooooooooooooo thankful the Lord protected us and allowed us to not get hurt or hurt anyone else. Thankfully there were no other cars around us. We were able to make it off the interstate and here we are pictured at a gas station. At this point we were thinking about driving it, hence why we are getting gas. Yeah kind of wish we wouldn't have wasted money on that now but oh well! A piece of metal ended up popping the tire when we actually backed out of that spot right there so we couldn't drive it anymore. Thankfully our sweet friends came and picked us up. We were only about 45 minutes away from our destination.
Now back to the story....
After a several hour interview we headed back home to wait and see and pray. That next week or two we got a call that they would like to offer Adam the job!
We know there will be many hard things about this transition and it certainly won't be a piece of cake but we are excited about what the Lord has called us to, that he has made a way and affirmed us along the way.
Oh and did I mention WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!? I mentioned previously that we started getting our house ready to sell in July. We put it on the market at the beginning of August and then sold it a few weeks later to a sweet couple who was just like us, newly weds, a dog, in seminary. I hope they love it as much as we have. We've moving in 3 weeks and still have tons to do. And also we don't know where we're living once we get there, so there's that, yeah... oh and about that, where is "there"
The Palmetto State :)
We know God is in the details and he will provide a place for us to live so we are trusting him! I think that about sums it up. Thanks for sticking with me through all that. And I'll leave you with one last picture.
