Independence Day

....We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!...

Oh wait you mean Independence Day isn't about prevailing against alien habitation?! Oh my, great movie, but what has our culture come to!  I saw a couple of references to this on fourth of July and it was quite hilarious to me.

All kidding aside I am very grateful for this great country that we live in where we are free to live and worship as we please.  While celebrating though we should be mindful that others around the world do not live with this kind of hope.

We were fortunate to head back to our hometown for our July 4th celebration.  I love July 4th and fireworks are my favorite.  The YMCA does it right with music, food, and of course a fireworks show at the end of the night.  We have gone the past couple of years and it is a great tradition now.  Our home church always helps out in some way so it is neat to see the whole community involved.  There was about 20,000 people there!  We hope to be back next year!  Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th!

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
