What's in a name

For a more "serious" post I just wanted to explain why our title is To God Be the Glory and what that means for any of you who are inquisitive. The answer is simple really… because He is worthy to be praised. What a mighty and great God we serve. In all things that we do, we seek and desire to give glory to the Lord. Psalm 115:1 is my heart’s cry. It says, Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Even though so many times I fail and give glory to myself and do not credit the Lord for all he has done and will do I rest in his forgiveness of my selfishness. He paid the price on the cross to forgive my every sin, He is the perfect sacrifice that paid it all, and all to Him I owe.

Not To Us by Chris Tomlin

The cross before me the world behind
No turning back, raise the banner high
It’s not for me, it’s all for You

Let the heavens shake and split the sky
Let the people clap their hands and cry
It’s not for us, it’s all for You

Not to us, but to Your Name be the glory
Not to us, but to Your Name be the glory

Our hearts unfold before Your throne
The only place for those who know
It’s not for us, It’s all for You

Send Your holy fire on this offering
Let our worship burn for the world to see
It’s not for us, it’s all for You
